The difference between the Second Moscow International Festival of Visual Anthropology "Tradition and objective glass. In searches of integrity" and similar events consists in orientation not only (and not so much) on the inner guild interests, but more on the potential users of the information presented by the authors of the films. >From this follows a series of features of the event that is being planned:

- The main block of screenings, which will be carried out in the Conference Hall of MSU within three days, should not be a competition. Each of the festival films will be accompanied by the comment of the author and short controversy after the show;

- In parallel with the main information screening in MSU, there will be subject screenings and seminars on other platforms, devoted to various sociocultural aspects of visual anthropology. In particular, it is planned to select the following themes: French, German and Japanese retrospective shows in connection with the role of visual anthropology in humanitarian practice of these countries; the contribution to school education using the example of USA and Canada , problem of northern and southern peoples in the modern political situation; singularities of mentality of the Moslem peoples; experience of the reflection of anthropology subjects on TV in Russia and European countries; a role of archival films in preservation of the cultural heritage etc.;

At the final conference, in which the representatives of humanitarian disciplines will take part, the discussion will be continued of

the problems which were affected during controversies during the main information screenings as well as parallel shows and seminars, and also of inner professional problems;

- The major theme of the event is the demonstrating of possibilities of modern videocomputer technology in reflection of traditional cultures and revealing their humanitarian potential. This theme should become not only the essence of the festival and the conference, but also will be illustrated with the help of technical exhibition during the event;

- The competition of debuts, in which the beginners in visual anthropology of Russia and representatives of the schools of Western Europe and USA will take part, should attract great interest;

- In the Museum of Cinema the realization "Festival of festivals of visual anthropology" is supposed, during which the Russian spectators will get acquainted to the best films of last years and will meet their authors.

It is supposed to use actively the films shown at the festival, the materials of seminars and conferences in research, for the cultural and educational purposes, on the television in Moscow and in other regions.

The task of the organizers of the festival is to continue its activity outside the period of its realization to ensure as wide as possible application of its materials and ideas in humanitarian practice.
